Homemade muesli bars

You can change the composition of the dry ingredients to get granola bars to your liking, for example by replacing some oat flakes or nuts with amaranth seeds, grated coconut or sunflower. If necessary, use another egg white to ensure sufficient bonding.
If you want to make your own vegan muesli bars, don't use butter, honey or egg whites. On the other hand, products such as almond paste, vegan margarine, sweetened coconut cream and clear syrup are added to the basic ingredients.

Ingredient List (1 Person)
200 g of walnuts (e.g. hazelnuts, cashews or almonds)
200 g of rolled oats
200 g of dried fruit (e.g. apricots, cranberries or cherries)
130 g of butter
120 g of liquid honey
1 egg white (size M)

Preparation:
Coarsely chop the walnuts for the granola bars and roast them in a fat-free pan until golden brown and allow to cool.
Do the same with the rolled oats.
Coarsely chop dried fruit as well.
Melt the butter and mix in a large bowl with the honey until the mixture is smooth.
Add all dry ingredients and mix well.
Beat the egg whites with a whisk until stiff and fold into the mixture.
Arrange the mixture on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and form a rectangle (w: 30 cm x w: 20 cm x h: 2 cm). Cook the mass in a preheated oven (electric stove: 175 ° C / convection oven: 150 ° C / gas: see manufacturer) for about 25 minutes, until it is lightly browned and firm. Leave to cool for 10-15 minutes and cut into about 20 bars (4 x 10 cm each).
Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight tin can, homemade granola bars will keep for about two weeks.
